Arkema’s Pebax® polymer is making a name for itself in the world of rugby with the FAVORITE and PUNCHER boots marketed by the French brand Le Coq Sportif.. Two new models, both high-tech and attractive, aptly fulfill the constraints of the rugby player’s movements. These boots will tread the grass for the first time during the Rugby World Cup in September on the feet of international French player Frédéric Michalak, Le Coq Sportif’s new ambassador.

Pebax® was chosen by Le Coq Sportif as the main material for the design of the outter sole of its rugby boots, as it is the only polymer capable of affording light weight (the boots are 10 to 20% lighter than those made from traditional materials), impact resistance and comfort, whatever the conditions of play may be. |

| Pebax® absorbs impact and vibrations, which heightens the feeling of comfort. The reduced thickness of the sole (20% thinner than with a traditional material) also increases the feeling of suppleness. |

| During scrums, the boot is subjected to extreme constraints from stress and traction: the Pebax® outer sole is extremely tough, and provides enhanced support and therefore stability for the player. It also offers outstanding resistance to repeated bending and twisting, and to general wear and tear. |
